Alaska's Kenai Peninsula provides a sampler of breathtaking scenery, excellent wildlife viewing and some of the best salmon fishing opportunities within the entire State of Alaska. Drive along Turnagain Arm with the snow-capped Kenai Mountain Range in the background. Visit the Alyeska Resort - Alaska's largest ski area, take a spectacular narrated wildlife and glacier cruise within magnificent Kenai Fjords National Park (from Seward) or Prince William Sound (from Whittier) and explore the Sealife Center in Seward - the first and largest cold water marine search institute in the world. Salmon fishing for King -, Sockeye and Silver Salmon on the Kenai River is a perfect excitement not only for the avid fishermen. Homer and the scenic artist community of Halibut Cove with it's many galleries across beautiful Katchemak Bay are providing many outdoor activities including kayaking, wildlife viewing and hiking as well as excellent native art shopping.

Day 1: Anchorage - Seward

Pick up your rental car in downtown Anchorage and leave the city on the Seward Highway. Just after a few miles you can enjoy the sweeping views of Turnagain Arm and the Kenai and Chugach Mountain Range. Upon arrival in Seward - a small fishing community on the shores of Resurrection Bay - you'll board the Kenai Fjords Catamaran at 11:30 am for a comfortable and exciting glacier and wildlife day cruise into magnificent Aialik Bay with it's calving glaciers and stunning scenery. Covering 110-miles, the trip is narrated by a National Park Ranger, who is highly adept at spotting wildlife and pointing out the many spectacular sights. The fjords and rugged islands of Kenai Fjords National Park and the Alaska Maritime National Wildlife Refuge showcase the best of Alaska’s marine world in a compact package. Murres, kittiwakes, puffins and other seabirds perch and nest along cliff faces just above the swells. Sea otters float belly-up eating mussels and clams. Harbor seals haul out on icebergs off Aialik and Northwestern glaciers. Humpback whales spend the summers fattening on forage fish such as herring. Gray whales pass in April on their epic migration to the Arctic. Steller sea lions mate and raise pups on Chiswell Island. In early and late summer, pods of fish-eating resident killer whales roam the region in pursuit of salmon. After reaching the mighty Aialik Glacier guests witness "the calving" a process by which glaciers shed giant blocks and slabs of ancient ice. A delicious Alaska salmon and prime rib lunch is served buffet style with guaranteed reserved table seating in a heated cabin for every guest. (Distance 50 Miles)  Overnight: Seward

Day 2: Seward - Homer

Time to visit the Alaska SeaLife Center or hike the Exit Glacier Trail. Continue your journey and follow the Sterling Highway - a designated scenic road covering many miles of spectacular landscape with snowcapped mountains and volcanoes (Mt.Iliamna, Mt. Redoubt and Mt. Augustine), deep ocean bluffs, excellent salmon fishing opportunities along the Kenai and Russian Rivers and the magnificent coastline. Tip: stopover in Ninilchik and visit the Old Russian Orthodox Church, build in 1900 and the historial cemetery. You'll also have access to world-class halibut and salmon fishing at the Cook Inlet. Homer is blessed with a view to the south that is stunning in its beauty and grandeur. The rugged Kenai Mountains spread across the sparkling waters of Kachemak Bay. Tip: Seldovia remains one of the last unspoiled areas in the world where there are no traffic signs, no road rage, no big box stores, and a quiet, laid-back atmosphere that is conducive to a relaxed vacation. Seldovia has a broad variety of activities for you to discover the true Alaskan wilderness, and it has all the conveniences of home! Seldovia is a wonderful place to go: fishing, shopping, hiking, camping, sightseeing, picnicking, kayaking, birding, shooting with a camera, biking, 4-wheeling, or just having fun! Day 3: Homer

Homer - aka: "Halibut Capital of the World" is located at the gateway to beautiful Kachemak Bay State Park. You have a full day to explore the area and kayak to remote coves and beaches, hike, take a scenic cruise to Seldovia and the artist community of Halibut Cove with it's many native art galleries along the wooden boardwalks or watch for wildlife including whales, seals, sea otters and a large variety of shorebirds. Homer and Katchemak Bay are also world-class fishing destinations for trophy sized halibut and five spezies of salmon. If you wish to observe grizzly bears up-close-and-personal in their natural environment, book a flight to the coastal areas of Katmai - and Lake Clark National Park. This is an experience you'll never forget. Get back to Halibut Cove in the evening and enjoy freshly prepared Alaska seafood with a view at the renowned Saltry Restaurant (dinner reservation included) Return to Homer by water taxi. Day 4: Homer - Cooper Landing

Leave Homer in the morning and drive to Cooper Landing - located on the banks of the world famous Kenai River. Your tour includes a scenic float trip along a non-motorized stretch of the scenic Upper Kenai River. Have your camera ready as we keep a keen watch for moose, eagles, Dall sheep, salmon, waterfowl, beaver, and bears as your guide navigates you through the snow-capped mountain scenery of the Kenai National Wildlife Refuge. Hear the stories behind the sights; the wildlife, the native inhabitants and early settlers, and the forces that shaped the Kenai River Valley. If you are an active fishermen you can attend instead a 1/2 day guided fishing trip on the Kenai or Russian River. Your fishing guide is expert in spinning, casting and fly fishing techniques on these waters. The excitement of hooking one of these prized fish is worth the trip to Alaska in itself. Day 5: Cooper Landing - Girdwood | Alyeska Resort

From Cooper Landing take the Seward Highway towards Girdwood. Tucked in a glacier valley between the mountains and the sea is Alyeska Resort - Alaska's premier destination resort. Offering deluxe accommodations, four-star dining, and year-round activities, they are equipped to spoil you in an unspoiled land. Summertime recreation includes hiking in Girdwood's alpine rain forests, river rafting and kayaking, mountain climbing, flightseeing and biking on Girdwood's bike path or the many trails in the valley. Day 6: Girdwood - Anchorage

Spend the morning relaxing or doing your favourite outdoor activities. You have the option to join another spectacular glacier & wildlife cruise into the fjords of Prince William Sound. The half-day cruises depart from Whittier. Return to Anchorage during the day and drop off your rental car. (Distance 40 Miles)
